Ls6 intake install
http://www.ls1howto.com/index.php?article=5
Holy crap...is it this Complicated or is it just very detailed and i am over reacting?
Also do i need lube/grease for the intake gaskets and injector orings?
I bought the coolant cross over from ws6 store so that should be good....
But yeah...someone said something about a new knock sensor?

When your pulling it out, reach your hand behind it and guide the rubber hose that goes to your brake booster over your Oil Pressure Sending unit or it will break.
You shouldnt have to lube your injector O-rings unless your taking out your injectors

I made the install video. Unfortunetely the first half was lost but I still have the second half which is my removing the fins on the bottom of the intake and re installing it. It's very simple if you follow the steps on the howto you listed above. Just take your time, have a couple cold sodas/beers and play some good music. You'll be done in no time.

It really is quite simple. You will realize it when you get into it. I use a very small amount of dielectric grease on the injector o-rings so they slide on with easy. You don't need to replace the intake manifold gaskets if they're still in good shape. But they are cheap to replace. Same goes for the knock sensors.
That LS1howto guide really makes it easy. Like TheBlueKnight said, have yourself a few sodas or beers handy, some tunes and have fun with it.

Put those 4 back bolts in, lift them up so they are not sticking out of the bottom at all, make them even on the bottom. Just before they stick out. Then take a 2 inch long piece of masking tape and tape each of the bolts in place on the top.
Then you can effortlessly slide the intake into place, then down into position. Then one at a time...take the tape off each bolt and drop it into place and thread them in by hand at first. Then you can drop all the other bolts in and tighten them all down.

That's a great suggestion. To the OP, if you don't have any tape handy, rubber bands or zip ties work great as well.

I would strongly suggest changing the intake manifold gaskets as they are a "crush" style gasket. When you do the install you will see that the head side of the old gaskets will be almost completely flat. Lots of guys skimp on the $20 for new gaskets and end up with a vacuum leak they cannot identify.
