Question Mass Airflow Sensor

Does a mass air really help or does it make things worse?

I guess you are talking about a aftermarket, in which case 90% of the time they do make things worse. Unless you are pushing 600rwhp I wouldnt worry about it.

The more i read i might go back to my stock maf. What about a ported maf + ported tb = ??? .. Keeping in mind in the next few mths im getting new pulleys and belts and black cat exhaust. I know I want to port the tp. but is it worth it to port the maf too? im kind clueless on this subject.

Ive heard good and bad things about porting a maf. I dont think it is worth it. On the other hand a ported tb from bauer and janzter ive heard nothing but good things from.

Depends on which SLP MAF, the '01-'02 version is pretty
close to stock, the '98-'00 is set up to lean out those
cars. If your trims and O2s are right and you can't tell
any problems from it then just let it be.

Descreening the SLP MAF didn't make any evident
difference to mine but a little filing did. If you aren't
prepared to tune it back, don't remove anything besides
the screen. The screen is more tenacious than the
stocker and you will not be able to remove it in a
reusable condition I expect.

I would tell you not to screw with it but I didn't
listen to me, so why should you?

leave the damn thing alone

just go read the thread that a newbie posted like a day ago about having problems with his. its not worth the headaches it can cause for a minimal gain.
