Default BBK headers

http://www.stage3motorsports.com/pro...mpaign=BBK1694

I was told that these are great headers for a great price. I am aware that they are only 1 3/4 instead of 1 7/8 and the y pipe is only 2.5" instead of 3" and i heard that 1 3/4 is more than enough for an ls1 engine. does anyone have these bbk headers? and what do you think of them?

well...you pay for what you get. Just be aware they will turn purple and blue due to the chrome finish.
Id only recommend the BBK's if your on extreme budget but if you can afford it, do the pace setters 1-3/4+TSP Y pipe.
if you have extra money do the TSP 1-7/8"

BBK ceramic coated LT's are only $475, and that includes a very good quality y pipe with an amazing merge. BBK is usually douted on their ease to install, and I can vouch for that.

Yeah their cheap that's why I bought them. I have the chrome for over a year with no chips. Yeah they turn blue. For a bolt on car they are fine if you plan on h/c you will need to open the end of the collector and build a ypipe or true duels. I recently installed h/c/I. I changed my bbk ypipe for custom 3 inch duels and gained 23horsepower and 24 torque on a dynojet. They are super easy to install also.

That's what happens when you go with chrome & not ceramic coated or stainless. My BBK's in ceramic coat have held up well for over 2 yrs.

The Pacesetter/TSP Y-Pipe combo is virtually the same price as going with BBK Lt's & Y-Pipe in ceramic coat. Its really just a matter of preference but either way, they are a great bang for the buck.

I love my chrome BBK's. They installed super easy, me and a buddy had them in in 5 hours. They look good, i personally love the blue, yellw, and purple that the chrome turns. If its good enough for a Harley, its good enough for a well maintained & properly cleaned car.

FYI, you can currently get the ceramic coated BBK LT headers & ORY-pipe for about $400 shipped.

I'm not really sure what you meant when you you get what you pay for with bbk's/ The chrome does turn blue but thats due to the nature of chrome. BBK's also come in cermic like most other headers, and pacestter/tsp headers are also meant to be budget headers. My chrome bbk's look as good or better than my buddys ceramic pacestters did down here in the wet FL climate. Also I've installed a set of kooks, Grotyohann headers (original ls1 headers that most companies model their design after) and my BBK's. The kooks hit the steering shaft and had to be dented in along with grinding the k member on the ds. The grots needed the oil filter plug, filter and steering shaft to be removed and needed to be grinded on both the drivers and pass side before they would go in. My BBK's needed NOTHING they literally slid right and dont come close to hitting anything. So I give BBk a higher quality than any "budget" headers I've come accross.

I didn't, but it sure would have been a lot easier if I would have.
