How does this setup sound to you?
In related news.. a 2500Hd long bed DESTROYED me from a redlight friday morning cos he wanted my lane.
You'll be high 12s easy with a bit more work.
myfirst, what tires are on your car now? I have some cheapy "riken raptor" tire that was the cheapest thing I could get to get the car rolling after I bought it. I plan to upgrade eventually.
Also even on street tires if you're getting a lot of spin off the line you might be able to shave a tiny bit of time off by NOT flooring it as soon as the light turns to reduce the spin. I mean you'll come out of it slower, but ya know.. if you're spinning tires you're wasting time. Unless you're showing off or something.

its funny cuz its true

OP: good luck. when people in my family get their mid set there is nothing you can do about it. i hope its different with your dad and the stall. but just remember you have a lifetime to work on your car so don't feel like you have to rush things.
i still have my birthday money from august because i'm still planning out my build.

What upgrades will your dad allow? I've never been impressed with the gains from intake/tb swaps, but to each his own...

It would have to be 4.10 if we changed the rear end.
4.10's in your 10 bolt and SFC's will get you to 12.9x...probably your most budget friendly option
Taking off the jack/spares/backseats and seatbelts will lose substantial amount of weight and there are more things you can do.
Go to drag racing forums and just lurk around and read the stickies.
Like others have stated, heads/cam is moot point if you don't get a stall to use the power/torque you gained efficiently. Stall will put your car in the powerband that you need to run the car faster. What kills the 4L60E is the heat (bigger tranny cooler to cool it) and then not being tuned with mods you have.
When my car was stalled auto, Yank converter 3500 ST with tuned for shift points/shift extension and slight increase of line pressure, my car was a beast for a bolt ons car. It ran 12.2-12.3 @ 110 MPH. This was still on stock suspension- 3.42 rear- no UD pulley, and just worn out MT ET streets swapped for the rear tires. Street tires it was running mid 12s.
What soo sweet with stalled auto when done right (tuned), you wouldn't know it has an aftermarket converter during normal driving until you mash the gas to the floor and you just hold on to your dear life.
