Take the engine, all the accesories (they are bolted on the engine,, You wont need the exhaust, That will get you what you need, If he is letting you take whatever you want,, I would also take the trans out of the truck also, Take it as a complete drivetrain, Even with the computer.

If your are asking this question perhaps you should enlist the help from someone who has removed an engine before.

You have to learn some how..

It's not too hard. Disconnect the transmission, motor mounts, lines, and harness from the body.

^^^^Yup I have always found the easiest way to do something is to jump in it with both feet,, But then again, I am a maintenance mechanic..

Hello. What you need to take out and reuse, is the wiring harness, ecu, Maf sensor, Tac module with wiring and pedal "if electric throttle" if you don't use this, you can sell it on Ebay for about 300 bucks.. What you don't want to use is that intake. You can use the new one from Edelbrock, that way you can use all the truck accessories. Looks cool and give you some extra hp with a tune...

What are you planning on doing with this motor?

As you've done a few engine pulls before, you know you need a good shop grade floor jack, jack stands, engine hoist, friends with beers, a full rolling toolbox, a radio for tunes/games, a moving dolly, drain pans, understanding girlfriend/wife......
