Many of those parts were on the car when I bought it, but roughly that list consists of $4-6k in parts depending on buying used v.s. new. Add more $$$ if you are going to be paying someone to install the parts.

I understand your goal. I too want to achieve this mark if not more. I have a 2001 ss a4. Right now I am at 343rwhp with a thermostat, 373 gears, k and n cold air intake, ported throttle body, underdrive pulley, and american racing headers that hook into a magnaflow catback system. So I have 57 rwhp to go or more to reach my goal as well. The car is a weekend driver at best. I am very tempted to just get a procharger and say the hell with it. A part of me wants to stay naturally aspirated, but the devil on my other shoulder is saying just run some boost. Either way I will build this car up. I have to believe buying some trick flows 215 cnc's and a custom cam (mild to moderate) with some supporting mods such as a timing chain, better oil pump, and a new 102 intake will get you to 400 - 425 rwhp. Also find someone who performs a great tune. I think too many mechanics don't take their time finishing their work with a good tune. Just my .02 Also you will need to get a stall.

alright...budget in mind?
Pacesetters 1-3/4" (TSP 1-7/8" are cheaper than kooks i think...)
True duals...outflows a catback, but yours should hold up.
ls6 intake, you already have this.
Underdrive pulley
P&P TB.
I think you would be content with this..it would land you about 340-350ish after a tune
243 heads (ls6), you can find some used for $300-$400
You could add a smaller-mild cam to that and be about 370-380, I WOULD HOPE you would be happy after that haha.
Not to mention you WILL NEED supporting mods in suspension, Oil pump, various others.
I think youll spend about $5k if you want 400Rwhp
Good luck!
Cheapest option.
100 shot of nitrous...lol
