Best/Accurate 85-90 MAF sensors?
What is the best, most accurate reading maf sensor out there? I heard the 85mm slp wasn't all that great.... Anybody know who makes a good 85-90mm maf?

I was once told by someone who did airflow calibration for a living that
the Delphi MAFs are better than 5% group tolerance. That's pretty
accurate in my book. But you can see differences on that order between
models & years in the MAF tables for vehicles that use the same Delphi
piece. This is the issue - accurate according to what? GM has an idea
and they spent some time on the numbers you can bet. SLP solders in
a 5% Radio Shack grade resistor and doesn't tell you Jack about the
result. It's on you to calibrate the thing and you don't have the setup
to do it, I can pretty much guarantee - maybe a dozen or so cal labs
nationwide do.
People who "calibrate" their own MAF table are embedding non-MAF,
non-airflow errors into that calibration, unaware. It's unavoidable
except by truing up every other fuel-side and AFR measurement
error, of which there are many, first. Who does that? Nobody.
Close enough is the best you can do. Picking a piece with a known
calibration is a whole lot easier. Stock Delphi is hard to beat for that,
or for price.

so your saying the stock one is best? I am thinking the stock one is good, but I kinda want to get an 85 or 90mm cuz I have the 90/90 intake and you would think going from smaller to bigger is a little silly isn't it?

Z06 MAF (descreened Delphi 85mm) and Z06 table would be a reasonable
start. You might find bigger ones where the manufacturer actually tells
you what the hell the calibration is. That would not include SLP or
Granatelli.

Plot from a small collection of MAF curves I had pulled together some
years back. The Holden Monaro uses the same MAF as the F-bodies
and doesn't have as jacked a curve at the top end. All the 85mm
Delphi curves are pretty close, I like the Z06 after heads & cam but
the truck was closer to right, before those mods.
