does anyone have actually flow numbers?
form a design point, it LQ4 intake "looks" similar to

The two biggest problems I see with them is the height and the fact that they are butt ugly.

On the dyno I pulled my nova to 7300 and the kpa on the map stayed 99 all the way to 6800 before falling off. I also shifted at 7400 with the cam I had at the time and the car was faster the higher I shifted.

It is ugly though, yet it makes people wonder what engine I'm running

the truck intake can be made to look good I found this and remember seeing another one that also looked good but couldn't find it.

It won't fit a 4th gen f-body but if you look at the OP's sig he's got a LQ4 in a 65 Chevelle, it would probably fit under the stock hood, and a 2" cowl hood would easily clear. I think sometimes people forget this is LS1tech.com and not LS1f-bodytech.com.

Will the truck intake work on a fbody with a cowl hood and still be able to run the wipers?

An ls6 would be the better choice. I would not cut a car up to run the truck intake.

im glad to hear its actually a better intake, im running a 4" glasstek cowl(no clearance issues).

i was thinking about switching over to a LS6 for performance reasons(not aesthetics), looks like i will be sticking to my LQ4 intake manifold.

has anyone ever ported the truck style intakes and added a edelbrock 90mm TB? i could only imagine that there would be power gains(especially since you can pick up truck intake manifold for dirt cheap)

that looks AMAZING! (plus it looks like its not as tall since all the junk has been shaved off the top.)

If it fits and you don't mind how they look( I been running one for three years) then it will perform. I have a ported stock throttle body, never seen one opened up to bigger tb.

Are all the Truck intakes the same 4.8, 5.3, 6.0? Is there a particular casting number that is better?

Its not the hood that is the problem...its the cowl section that half the motor sits under. Where the wiper motors and hoses sit at the back of the hood. That part covers over about half the motor and prevents you from using taller intakes. Some people have cut into it to make things fit, however I dont believe you can cut enough to make the truck intake fit, unless you remove your windshield wipers completely.

I dont care if i lose some HP, i like my engine bay to look legit in my truck (ford ranger w/ 5.3) As for the car, it wont fit and im okay with that, lol.

FWIW i have a complete truck manifold with rails/injectors/sensors for sale, CHEAP!

I've always read that the LQ4 truck manifold builds more torque cause of the longer runners....that smoothed off one looks sweet!
