is anyone daily driving a 383? just pondering it and wondering how reliable it would be.

Sure, I drive my LS 383 stroker just about every day. You have to realize that the piston is traveling a 10% greater distance than the stocker every time it goes up & down the cylinder, so there's bound to be that much more wear & tear if everything else is equal.

i plan on buying a cast iron lsx block if i do it so hopefully that will add some extra security to the life. how many miles do u put on it a day?

Mine's a daily driver. No problems at all. Cam choice will determine the driveability, reliability is more on the parts selected and quality of the build. Choose a good builder and select quality parts; not cheap E-bay china ****.

My boy has a tfs head 383ci with no issues. it's fast to making 500hp and 470tq.

^ x2.. Cam choice has a great deal to do with it's street manners. I'd recommend PatG for a cam, but I'm bias..

I agree with the above Pat G for a cam. i have had 9 cams(two his) and his was a great improvement over the sponsor's cams i have had.
