Well, I got a few parts and pieces ordered and delivered when I was home.
Ordered the MagnaPack 14419 from Advance Auto, cheap as hell. Also went to Columbia River Mandrel Bends and ordered a 3.5" - 3" reducer for the TSP Y pipe, as well as a 3" expanded coupling to put on the end of the I-Pipe for the LM system to mate to the Y; Both in stainless.
MagnaPack onbly took a few days to arrive... The other two parts... TEN days, and they shipped the next day! That's why they arent installed yet.
Anyways, here's a few pics of everything thus far.
There IS something I found a bit interesting about the MagnaPack, however. It appears there is a "seam" on the inside where two different sections of packing meet, but they overlap. They list it as a non-directional muffler, but I know I sure as hell wouldn't want the exhaust flow against that lip. Rather, transition from the smaller ID into the larger ID.
Here's what I mean:
Smaller ID of seam to larger ID of seam:
And here's the opposite side, where you can actually see the "lip" I'm talking about.
Talked with Magnaflow about it when I saw it for the first time. Hell, I thought I was seeing **** due to the Bud Platinum.... They pulled it up on a CAD file and confirmed, and also suggested running it smaller ID to larger ID so as to not introduce turbulence, which will in the end, produce RASP.
I've read of guys in the past doing the MagnaMouth and not really noticing a difference. I wonder if maybe the muffler orientation had something to do with it?

Not yet. On the rig until the 29th. (Don't blame US for the gas prices. Our hands are tied) It WILL be welded and installed the first week of March.
Anyone have any thoughts though on the inside of the muffler? Kinda thought that would have sparked some interest....

I put half of the blame for high gas prices on our government, the other half I feel is out of our control.
None of my other Magnaflow mufflers were/are like that, is this something new Magnaflow started doing?

I donno. I called a tech (not a salesman) at Magnaflow and he pulled up the CAD file and confirmed.
I'm goin to try a die grinder and at least attempt to smooth it out before install.

I've been quoted from 150 - 200 for the stainless TIG welding. Tigging 4 seams. Am I crazy to say that seems a bit high? I mean, 4 beads. That's it.
Thoughts?

****, I'd just be happy to find a welder that doesn't want an arm and a leg.
I wonder what downsides there are to having them welded with mild steel. I know when we do pipeline work, we can't even use grinder disks that have been used on mild steel due to cross contamination, but I know exhaust isn't under pressure.
I'm just worried about it looking like **** and cracking eventually.

Yeah it would look really nice with SS welds, but IMO with the car exhaust you should be fine with non-SS weld, you can always go over the welded area good with some silver header paint, or you can just give it a coat of anti-seize.

Well, for an update:
Just dropped off the exhaust with the guy that's going to TIG it all up for me. I spent the better part of last night scribing lines and checking measurements 25 times. It would have been nice to have a newer version of the loudmouth where the resonator was a slip-fit.... And holy ****, that first part that connects to the Y was a bitch to get lined up right.
Should have her back tomorrow and will post pics. No vid though. PCM is on its way to Frost for a mail order tune.
