Default Port behind Air Filter

Hi guys Im a newb here with an 06 chevy silverado with the 4.8. I bought the truck non running as a project, and it came with what I was told was an ls1 intake manifold. My question today is (there will probly be many more questions to come), there is an round opening on the front of the manifold, on the top, behind where the air filter attaches. Looks like it needs some type of cover or something. This is the only pic I have at the moment.

It may be the hole for the egr that came on the ls1. you can plug it up with a 1 3/8" expanding freeze plug.

Plugging that hole would be bypassing the egr. You would also need to plug the port in the exhaust and have a tuner turn it off in the computer so you don't get a check engine light

so by making this manifold swap, is there a way to keep the egr? or does my truck not have the correct sensor for this type of port?

The pcm will be the determining factor. If its the pcm that came with the motor its completely possible to keep the egr you just need the rest of the parts for the system. Egr valve, egr tube, assorted gaskets and fasteners

Oh and there is not a sensor that goes in that hole its a metal pipe

Its the stock pcm. I will snap a pic tomorow and post it up of the port. I have a set of pacesetter long tubes on the truck and I dont think they have a port for egr

The truck style EGR and the car style are different. I dont think it will bolt up.
