Ported Stock Lid
After numerous searches...... I said F an aftermarket lid that does not fit and started to port my stocker. Here is a pic of "stage one". Stage one because my flapper wheel wore out
Not sure if there will be a difference when done, but it cannot be too far away from the aftermarket lids.

This is the same thing I did to my 02' SS. It actually improved my overall performance, especially in the mid-range to high rpm's. I think it's worth the few bucks in materials. I used a pr. of vice grips and sand paper.

I did the same thing this morning and I've got a lid. I doubt it will make much difference but its worth a try. My lid didn't pick my car up at all so I took it back off. Most people say they helped their cars though.

hey bayou, i just posted the same thing in general dicussion. nice picture are you cuting the rest of the ribs out and trimming down the oval neck on the inside i'd like to see more pics. good job so far. nesessity is the motherhood of invention! oldman...

The oval opening is still a restriction. I've never had or seen fitment issues on any brand and together my friends and I have been through SLP, TSP, FTP, MTI, Granatelli, LS1 motorsports, Whisper and Volant. Never had any issues. Idk what everyone complains about. Essentially OP you will have a Blackwing lid when you are done bit even that falls short from a good lid
