Thumbs up LS6 Intake HP gains

So... just bought a factory GM LS6 Intake. What kinda rwhp gains should I expect? My engine mods are as follows:

Shaner S2 PP Throttle Body
SLP Lid with K&N
Smooth Bellow
BBK 1 3/4 Long Tube Headers
Off Road Y-pipe
Catback with V-Force muffler
EGR delete - tuned out
AIR delete - tuned out
Exhaust tune, bumped timing 3 degrees

Adding the LS6 intake Im sure will compliment some of these upgrades. Whats the likely Rear wheel hp gain from this intake?

You will definitely notice it. I already had lid, tune, exhaust and it felt better than any of those at the time.

Should I get the zo6 maf to better tune it? Or does the stock ls1 maf tune well?

I wouldn't spend the money on a different maf, stock is good for quiet some time.

Even Frost advised me against it (The 85mm MAF). The stocker isn't even thought of being a restriction till you hit around 460 to the WHEELS.

I hope I can feel it in the seat of my pants... Even 10rwhp should be noticable.

I thought I heard the stock mass airs were hard to tune. Maybe I was confused at the time, i was talking about buying the SLP, maybe thats the one that is hard to tune. Oh well lol

Exactly. It's the SLP b/c of the resistor soldered in place.

I just finished putting a GM 85mm maf on my car and retuning it.

No track gains on my setup (230/238 cam, lightly worked 799 heads, Fast intake). I would venture to say the stock MAF is adequate unless my filter was a bigger restriction than the 75mm maf, and I doubt that.

Car ran 7.54@91.9mph 1.69 60ft in 1329DA with stock MAF (with screen)
Car ran 7.66@91.4mph 1.78 60ft in 1800DA with 85mm MAF (with screen)

Very nice back up on numbers, that definately settled it for me, no aftermarket MAF for me. I just am looking forward to seeing the gains from the intake!

The only thing I could tell right after my install was how it pulled harder in the upper rpm range. You can tell it's pushing more air through comparably to stock.

I thought mine pulled noticeably harder in the mid-range ... seriously. It gave me a pretty consistent .05 -.07 at the track.

They help some cars more than others.

My friends Chevelle picked up .15 and over 1 mph consistent. He logs every pass he makes along with changes and weather/DA.

I have practically the same mods as you and after a dyno tune my car put out 340 rwhp and 350 ft. lbs. torque. I have a 2000 so mine didn't come with the ls6, don't know how much I gained because of it but I definitely felt it.

Thumbs up

This is all great feedback!!! I should be putting it on next weekend. I work this weekend so I wont have much time, but next weekend I can take it to work no problem, I think I may buy a Oil Pressure Sensor just in case I break it, but I watched a video and you break it by not routing your A.I.R tubes around the sensor. Mines all gone so no worries, but will get just in case.

DeLaRosa... what on earth would make you think I was getting a BBK? lol Bought/Buying an LS6 from a guy.. you might know him haha

Im curious to see my times after adding my relocation brackets and ls6 intake and Tick master cylinder. Im sure to pick up some decent time. My clutch pedal sticking to the floor is killing me going from 3rd to 4th.
