Well, 1 3/4's have been said to be sufficient at some pretty decent power levels, so I wouldn't hesitate to get a set if I was getting a good deal then swap them out later if they became a restriction for whatever reason. However, since you plan to go bigger cubes eventually with an LQ9 I would probably do the 1 7/8's, since those give you more room to grow anyways.

I would pick 1 7/8" everytime, given the choice between the two.

I just ordered 1 7/8 headers today to replace my 1 3/4. I wish the 1 7/8 headers headers were out when I got my 1 3/4", I wouldn't be having to buy them twice.

With 1 7/8" headers, you will have room to always grow. If you are like most of us on here, we are always questing for more power as the new found power always wears off.

I really am not sure if you will see gains with the 1 7/8's compared to the 1 3/4 headers initially. But, where the 1 7/8's generally may outshine the 1 3/4's is when you really start making big power, I'm talking 500+rwhp. So, in a way it may be kind of worth it at the end of the day to spend the extra money on the 1 7/8's, as previously stated, it just gives you a little more room to grow.

There has been plenty of testing and 1 7/8" make more hp and tq over 1 3/4", even on a stock motor. Start adding mods and they will benefit even more.
