Default anything else for header install?

Hey finally about to put in my headers sometime soon(ive had them laying around for months)
and just want to make sure I have everything needed or if anyone has some awesome tips would be great.

I have the following:
-set of edelbrock stepped headers, 3.5" collector
- 3.5"-2.5" reducers
-egr and air blockoff plates
-new edelbrock gaskets that came with headers
-O2 extentions
-poly MM

I feel like that should be all but want to make sure

thanks in advance

I would ditch the gaskets that came with the headers and get a set of OEM mani gaskets. Other than that everything seems good..

A grinder to grind down the oil dipstick tube bolt's flange. Just throwing it out there... some don't have something like that. Agree with Redline- Ditch the gaskets and get the GM MLS

if you haven't done it yet, might think about swapping out mm's with poly since you will have the room.

Jack, jack stands (make sure the combination of the two gets you high enough for clearance), wheel chocks, couple lengths of 2x4, drill and 3/8 bit for rivets on stock motor mounts, c-clamp or vice to press in new poly mounts (I've heard different ideas on this), ratcheting wrenches help a lot, as well as deep sockets and a few different length socket extensions.

You will want some anti-seize for the header bolts and it's not a bad time to throw in some fresh spark plugs and maybe wires.

^^actually I am curious about something. The Edelbrock headers I have, are a 3.5" collector without a flange on them.
I need header reducers on them to fit into the rest of the system so do ya'll think I should do a slip fit header reducer(not too familiar with the slip fit) or weld a 3 bolt flange on the header then get a 3 bolt reducer????

^awesome I knew that would be the easiest route(probably cheaper too) but was unsure about how well it would hold it together

^ I'm trying something a little different but yes its going to be over the axle..gonna be split so one pipe runs over driver side, one pipe over the passenger side

^Yeah i saw those vengeance racing ones, they are very tempting. I have heard a lot of bad things about the MSD's

^How do OEMs fit with the long tube headers. I've heard something about running OEM C6 wires because they have a nice 90* boot that fits with headers....something ill have to look into i gues.s

Something that I don't see mentioned here a lot, and I posted about earlier... some ARP header studs would make the job a lot easier. I wish I had done it in the first place, I'm pretty sure it would saved me hours of work and I wouldn't have messed the first few threads up on some of the bolt holes.
