Default Help with air lid

I have a 2000 pontiac trans am ws6. I just installed a tb, below, mafsensor, and slp air lid.
When i go to lock the slp air lid in place it doesnt fit in the slots and hangs over the front of where it should be seated about a half inch.

I need to know if any else has had this problem. Also what i need to do to fix it.

Make sure the neck is all the way back against the ridge on the MAF and work the prongs all the way into the slots and it will fit. You just have to work it and fiddle with it.

Well 1st off make sure all parts are as far in each other as possible. Example. Bellow all the way on TB. MAF all the way in bellow. MAF all the way in lid. Getting the MAF in the lid is hardest. Use hair dryer to heat it up. Then u will be fine.

Hey, dude! Wow, it sounds like you just got yourself a pretty nice setup there — congratulations!

I've had a very similar setup on my Camaro for nearly ten years, and I've been delighted with it. In addition to the parts that you have, I also have a velocity stack. To make sure that everything fit properly in my car, I had to trim about .25" off of my bellows.

However, before you do any cutting, check to see whether or not the four "prongs" on the back of your air lid are seated in their respective holders on the radiator shroud. If all four are snugly pushed back in as far as they'll go, you may have a major fitment issue.

But, if the prongs aren't even in the holders, and assuming that you've followed "2win_SS's" good advice, you may wish to trim a bit off your bellows as I had to so that your lid will slide all of the way back. Be sure to measure carefully before you make any cuts; you may not need to take off as much as I did!

I wish you the best of luck with your project, man. And I hope that you enjoy the benefits of these pieces as much as I have!

Take you time and heat it up well before you start cutting, it should line up if you can get everything pressed together tightly. Start at the throttle body and work you way to the front.

I 2nd Z28RS for checking the 4 tabs that must go into the slots in the back of the lid. I had this problem when throwing all my stuff back together quickly once.

X2. The MAF in the lid was definitely the hardest part.
