Or you can use a 1-3/8" expansion plug from your local auto parts store for about $5

A 2002 & up 5.3 truck has an EGR block off plate that will bolt right up.

If you for some reason can't get ahold of one anywhere else, I bought a rubber block off at o'rially's. Pop it in and use like a 10mm to tighten it 'til it seals. Have had mine on for years now and haven't had a single issue out of it yet.

I used an expansion plug on mine, drove it like that for a couple years without any problems before I swapped to an LS6 intake.

change the intake, at least at inspection time you can say you have a Newer model motor that does not require one rather than having to pay a massive fine for removing emission systems. Just something to ponder. Plus you will have more HP.
