Default Help! My throttle is stuck open when i first start it up.

I just swapped a 2001 ls1 and t56 into my 99 trans am a4. Well it starts up and everything is running just fine, but one problem as soon i start the car, the throttle is open. The car has cruise and im thinking this is the issue. When i hooked up the throttle cable i noticed it cracks open the tb a little and i can pull the throttle forward to release the tension and the cruise control takes it back . Idk what the problem is can you guys help thanks

Aren't the cruise cables adjustable?

follow the throttle cable back to you see the adjuster, its the square looking thing. you can lessen/tighten the pressure on the cable.. It just snaps in/out over the cable..

Have you tried pulling cruise control fuse to see if that is truly the problem?

is this car a traction control model? if so i bet you are talking about the traction control module sitting on the pass. side fender well. if this is the case then just take the cover off and disconnect the cables and tear it apart and reset it. I had the EXACT same thing happen to mine. i bought a 98 ls1 m6 car and on the drive home she blew up so i replaced the motor with one i had built. when i started it and hit the throttle she held at the rpm i let off or lil higher give or take. anywho i tore the module apart and reset the gears to whatever worked for my car not to do what it was doing. this DOES NOT hurt the traction control in ANY way. when i have it turned on she does what she is supposed to. so i hope this helps GL

well ill have to look at it and make a right up about it or something cause alot of people have problems with this when they either mess with that cable or take the intake off there cars. there are gears that overlap and you just have to like re align them. not that hard just tear it apart and go from there. if you want i am more then glad to make a right up
