Default Should I do a fast along with h+c?

Im doing h+c in couple weeks. Heads are TEA stage 2 243s. Cam is a 228. I just stated thinking about a fast but damn they expensive but dont wanna regret not geting one either.
92mm seem to be cheaper than the 102mm but would it even be worth it upgrading from ls6 to 92?

Not worth it IMO. keep the ls6 intake. Unless you are pretty much making an all out drag car.

If you want every last bit of HP then yes. If you don't feel and extra 15+HP is worth $800 then no....HP costs money. Stock form they outflow a ls6 in ported form they blow them away. The ls6 will be holding you back on a big H/C setup

Maybe a 92, keep an out in the classifieds, with the debute of the black 92 I'll bet you can come across an older used 92 for a good price.

Put it together with the ls6 and wait if you want, but you might need a bit touching up on your tune when you go to the fast.

P.S. I noticed you went with TEA heads

Thats the thing...if I was going to do it then it would be nice now so I dont have to retune later. Ehh decisions lol
Yes sir my sig will soon say TEA ls6 stage 2. Cant wait to get results

What all is needed for the 92 just the 92 tb? Or is there more?

The 102 sounds like a hassle whats it need a tb, different fuel rails, grinding water pump or something?

To my understanding yes. But I'm not 100% on that, I run the 102.

Ultimate and you both make a good point. I was trying to see how far I could go on stock cubes so I went with the FAST. I didn't see see the point in breaking it down into to stages because It didn't seem to make any sense to me to pay for the extra dyno time down the road. It's one of those more money now but less later type of things.

I would and did. While my initial plan was to be cam only, problem with a lifter required pulling the stock head. Figured while I was at it to get some new heads. Figured I'd maximize the setup with a FAST 90 so I could be done with it. No more retune, no more dyno and it'd all be done in one shot. While the initial cost is expensive I like to think somewhere across the timeline of owning my car I saved money doing the FAST while doing H/C rather than adding it a year later to the setup and getting retuned. That was over 4 years ago and haven't regreted it for a single minute.

If your going to max out your set-up, might as well go Kooks 2" headers, fast 102/102 combo, True duals, fly cut pistons and run big cam.. etc..

why get a maxed out intake and not max out everything else??

The real question here....Do you have the money to do it? Thats really what the decison is based on and really nothing else...

If your pockets are not deep and looking for the best HP for the $$, the answer is no to the FAST.

You obviously have never ran a FAST before I take it? The car doesn't have to be a "drag car" in order to run a FAST intake. His gains with a FAST 92 or 102 on H/C combo would shine over the LS6. He wouldn't be losing out on driveability either. So not sure where your statement remotely holds true.

OP, go with either the 92 or 102. I'm running a 92/92 combo and the car picked up some awesome power all over the board over the LS6. Plus you can sell the LS6 to help towards the FAST. IMO, it would be kinda stupid not to run a FAST unless you don't have the funds for it right now.

Also, you will see more than 15rwh. With those heads & cam, you should see another 20+. I picked up 16rwh and 17rwt with my 92/92 combo. I'm running stock 241 heads as well.

I gained 20rwhp with 2.5 ls6 heads and a 231/234 cam after I put my FAST 92/92 on. Don't forget to budget for an FTP lid, bellows and 90mm GM MAF in front of it.

What I am saying is.. for that amount of money there are better mods to do. He already has a good flowing intake. Yes Fast is going to gain but enough to equal the 1k price tag?

Idiot. Wonderful feedback.

Dont jump on the dickwagon please. Read other threads before you comment. Because I was just giving him my opinion.. its what IMO means. If he has deep pockets. go for it. You wont even feel a difference, most people will feel the difference in $1,000 less dollars in their wallet though.
