Default MTI Lid won't fit over MAF. Pics inside.. Help!

I just finished the paint on my lid, and I went to slide the MAF in. It's not even CLOSE. I got the lid used from a member on here.

Anybody else have this problem? How the hell do I get it in? I just got all excited to put it on the car finally, and now it won't go. The lid isn't f#*ked up is it?

Crap.. now I'm worried about screwing up the paint. How much heat are we talking here? Hair dryer, over the stove, keep my distance with a torch? Or maybe I can boil some water and stick the end in..

I don't suggest shoving It in an getting it to fit. If you ever have to remove it it's a pain in the *** because the maf has the lip in the front

The opening on that lid doesn't even look the same shape as the maf. Looks warped..

I used a hair dryer and had to shove that sob when it got warm enough.

if you looked close the opening on the lid was previously broken. Wonder why?

I kept the torch far away, and in no time it was easily movable!

Go buy a sewage coupler from Home Depot or lowes. Simple fix.
