Default prototype ls6 manifold from 1993!!

I am a student at the school of automotive machinists here in houston and Judd, the instructor said he had a prototype cast aluminum ls6 manifold from 1993. It was a gift from a GM engineer. It was supposed to be used on production ls1's but it was decided that it flowed too much for the average driver enter the ls1 manifold. I believe it was used for road racing early on and only 100 were made. Anyway, heres some pics of ls1 history for you guys. If anyone else knows more history of it, chime in

They probably decided on Nylon/plastic because it was easier and cheaper to produce.

Not to mention heatsoak (sorry I just had to do it)

yeah that's pretty cool, some LS history. Almost hard for me to believe just how long they've been around already!

I read through that and it said there were C4's floating around with gen III power, that would have been sweet to get one of those.

That's not even possible to begin with. Who the hell only holds one beer at a time?

Back when the 2002,s were on their last year, I met a traveling salesman at work who put a lot of miles cross country each year on cars. He was in a program with gm where he got to use their car for free & had to bring it in every so often & do reports on it. He was driving an 02'ss camaro with an off 1 body styling kit, 18's up front 19's in back, & a test engine he said was insured by Loyds of London & rated at 430 plus hp. it also had an experimental system that lowered the nose above a certain high speed. He said state troopers frequently pulled him over to see the car becaused they recognized what it was. Some asked to drive it with him & one took it up to the speedometer reading past 160

This was a long time ago , but I do remember the intake looking different. Wonder if this was a version of what became the ls3?????

Is that throttle body bolted to the intake or is it a one piece? That would be expensive to replace lol
