Default ASP Pulley worth it or not?

Hey guys! Here is the situation. I have Jet Hot LTs along with the Jet Hot catted Y pipe I'm going to have installed soon. I also have a hotcam kit and asp pulley. I have to wait on the cam unfortunately becuase of warranty reasons, so would you guys think its worth it to install the asp pulley along with the headers, or wait till the cam install? Would it really benefit me much? I have a 2001 WS6 M6 with an air lid and GMMG exhaust if that helps any. Thanks guys!

Doing the pulley install during the cam install is a zero labor swap in a way, 'cause the stock pulley's gotta come off anyways. If wrenching's not your thing, then wait. But, screw the warranty! Do it all now!

Believe me, I would love to do the cam and everything now, but I have 4 more years of my extended warranty, and that is a lot to throw away. Thanks for the opinions guys!

Four years from now you are going to want the latest and greatest cam and pulley. Not something that has been sitting on the shelf for 4 years. Install your pulley, sell your cam, and use the money for something else.

If your gonna wait on the cam you may as well wait on the pulley, especially if you are concerned about the warranty, Hell some dealers might even void the warranty cause of the headers. The pulley will give you some power though if you decide to install it.

Absolutely, install the pulley. I agree with SouthFL SCREW THE WARRANTY!! have fun with your car. chances are nothing will happen. and if it does it just gives you a good reason to upgrade whatever dies! hopefully the engine!!! 427 ci

So you bought the stuff, but don't intend to install it for 4 years?

Damn thats like staring at your wife, but its her time of the month, except that only last a week, this is 208 weeks we are talking about!

Oh yeah if your really that concerned about warranty, sell the cam and install the pulley. If you have to go to the dealership then just put the stock pulley back on, its not that hard of a swap, especially on an M6

IMO: Just do it! I had an extended warranty on mine and I had a few mods on it while it was under warranty, although it wasn't anywhere near four years......just think of it this way, if you swap out the cam you can change the cam itself, springs, retainers, timing chain, oil pump, pushrods, the whole deal and so long as it's all done well I dont' see why you shouldn't practically decrease the chance of an engine problem with all those new high quality parts........especially with the relatively low lifts of the hotcam and maybe a lower than required redline just to be safe That said i'll add to what has been said in that if it's not going in soon then sell it...especially since the hotcam, though it's cheap, makes decent power and sounds badass, is already quite a few horsepower behind a lot of the other cams on the market.

Use the warranty for the other crap like wiring defects, AC problems, window motors...MOD THE CAR! I agree, the cam and a lot of other things will have so many updates by then and you will be sitting on out-dated parts. I know of many people who have had their cars warrantied after modding and all they did was return the car back to stock before bringing it in...

Install the pulley, sell the cam. In 4 years you'll be able to get it for half the price.

You could also look into selling back the extended warranty. Then install the pulley, cam and use the money you make off of selling back the warranty for more mods.

Cancel the warranty and get your money back for it. Install cam and use money from warranty and get nitrous kit.
