Default kooks true duals experience with new videos sounds inside of car too

NEW*Cooks review coming this week I have a few comments, then I will make a simple DIY guide for everyone if you like

I just ordered on black friday the whole 9 yards kooks 1 3/4 stainless headers, true dual stainless system with cats, o2 sensor extenders, and the other two parts required for fitment.

I have a beautiful 02 35th anniversary camaro with 30k. Of course I had to get the best. The whole setup with free delivery and no tax came to a total of 2150. Woooooohoooooo!!! black friday saved me about 550 off of the already discounted prices.

I will be adding plenty of pictures and videos and maybe do a guide.

Parts I ordered:

Kooks 3" True Dual Exhaust with Cats and Dual Tips - 1998-2002 Camaro and Firebird (LS1) - USE WITH KOOKS HEADERS
$1,749.95

BMR Driveshaft Safety Loop (1993-2002 F-Body)
- BMR Color RED Hammertone
$109.95

BMR Panhard Rod Relocation Kit - 1993-2002 Camaro & Firebird
- BMR Color RED Hammertone
$225.95

Kooks 1 3/4" x 3" Stainless Steel Headers - 1998- 2002 LS1 F-Body (w/Air & EGR)
- Header Year 2001-2002 (PT# 6505S-MC)

$824.95

Sub-Total: $2,910.80

My price 2150!!

And the winning car is...............................
(this pic was before kooks system)

Update 12/22/2012:

Check out some videos, I will be adding more as I finish up.

2002 Camaro SS 35th anniversary, all stock except this kooks system

Videos of my car after headers installed.

Warm idle videos with just open headers

Update 12-25 exhaust finished. I will be putting up better videos later, just using a simple GS3 right now.

Finished product, cats, mufflers, everything.

Finished product, best audio so far inside car, first with doors and windows closed, then I opened a door, then i closed that door and opened the windows a small bit on each side.

At the track (Before exhaust and headers) with stock setup just no mufflers...

Sounds like you got yourself a killer exhaust setup. Price is relative; some cat backs on other cars are over grand.

I love my headers and catted-y from Kooks and I plan on getting their TDs in the future. I also ordered through Maryland Speed and they were great to deal with. Sounds like you got a hell of a deal!

You'll love it after it's installed. It's a PIA to fine tune so everything clears and there are no rattles. I would have went 1 7/8" headers and a MWC DS loop though....it goes over the exhaust instead of under for more ground clearance.

BrntWS6 is right....PIA to fine tune everything. Had to cut nearly 2" in system length (headers and exhaust) for things to clear and look correct on mine. Still tweaking.....

I've got Pros and MWC DSL....

I don't think you're supposed to put MD speed's prices in print but whatever.

Had a shop install it with some some other pieces. Kooks admitted this system was designed for the bird in mind. Camaro's end up with tips that stick out waaaaay too far. Of course its subjective, but looked like ***, imo. Fixed now...

Dont wait for the DS loop....do it now.

I too have a 35th Ann Camaro. I just put in my new motor this weekend and I'm in the process of getting all of my pipe and bends for a true dual set up from Spin Tech that will look very familiar to your Kooks set up.
Post up some pics when your done, love to see it!

Merry Christmas!

okay, considering the price, that's pretty awesome!

BUT

i checked before I ordered my BMR stuff on Saturday, and based on my findings with this 2012 Black Friday / Cyber Monday sales, WS6Store had the better deal (15% off without any other fees). even direct from BMR WITH their $9.95 per-order fee was still better than MD speed

yes I will definitely post up the pictures when I am done I didn't think I would have had to cut the exhaust but that's okay shortening the exhaust shouldn't be that hard I guess I didn't get the best price but I am still satisfied with the price that I got in my opinion anything was better than the retail because I almost bought it about a month ago and decided to wait

I removed my old exhaust tubing today, will post pics in the morning. Tomorrow I will be removing spark plugs and old restrictive exhaust manifold. unfortunately it's been almost 3 weeks and I still don't have my headers and true duals all I have is my BMR parts. I guess the cool part about that is they are freshly made parts!! I'm actually making a guide too for everyone or some ppl that want to see pics and videos. once I get the headers and the true duals it shouldn't take long for me to just put them in I will update you guys.

^The header install is not bad at all. I thought it was going to be much worse until I actually did it. Some steps an extra pair of hands are useful. Goodluck!

That's how I felt before I started pulling stuff off, now I am waiting to put stuff on. I need to get my car higher I have ebay headers I bought and never used so I tried to get those up there and I couldnt fit them so I definitely need it higher right now im only about 15" off the ground. I have a crappy jack though waiting on a new one for christmas hopefully if not extra blocks will do the trick.

I used blocks and jack stands that were probably 20 years older than I am. I wouldnt say anymore than 2 feet off the ground though.

im getting so excited, maryland speed / kooks is taking too long to make my exhaust though!!! It's almost been a month, I was patient they said 2 weeks, you should have set longer expectations people I took my exhaust off my car and I have been just dieing to put on the new one. Dang

On a side note, I have taken pictures of almost everything I have done to remove the stock exhaust manifold, with detailed info right on the pictures of socket/wrench sizes and other info. So I will be making a full review/guide to the system. SOUND AND VIDEO comes after! Everything else on my 35th is stock. So you will be able to hear what it sounds like on a stock car. I will be modding it as well with a cam next and do more video on that after too with these TD's.
