Default how to go from FAST 90/90 to EFI intake & 4150 TB

After the PRI show this Saturday I had a change of plans. I am building a 1970 Trans Am with the LS1 (see link in sig) & I want the shaker hood scoop to fit & work properly. That being said I want to go from my FAST 90/90 setup on my LS1 to an EFI intake & TB. Problem is I don't know the easiest /cheapest way to do it with swapping over as few parts as poss....

Can I just get an intake & TB?
Do I have to get new fuel rails & injectors?
What else do I need?

As for intakes the only one I have seen ready to go is the Victor JR (#29085) with the EFI bosses drilled. I have also seen the GMPP intake (#88958675) but it is carb only (not drilled) so that is out. Am I missing any?

Next is TB. I have seen a few from Edelbrock (3878), FAST (307603), Accufab (4150) or a downdraft style 102mm from TIPS.

Next big question is what is the going rate these days for a like new FAST 90/90 setup going for these days?

Did some more reading here & found I will need Edelbrocks fuel rails to go with their intake
Looks like the overall cost from Summit for example would be ~ $900 for TB, Intake & Rails....

Factor in a tune as well. Unless you plan on intricate tubing and other things, you will need to go speed density. Of course you know a re tune would be necessary as well due to the change in intake design.

If you decide to do it, I'm interested in your FAST 90/90 setup. What will you be asking for it?

Dmoney - thank you very much for the info!

S10xGN - considering I paid a LOT more than $900 new for them & it is going to cost me a LOT more than $900 to replace them I think I'll start there & see what happens

What throttle body? Let me know when you're ready to sell, I'm still gathering parts and in no hurry...

I forget which one I got but I'm about 99% sure it is a FAST90 as well. I don't remember as it has been in a box for the past few years waiting for me to build my new engine... I'll pull it down this weekend & take a pic JTBS.
BTW, I'm ready to sell whenever you are ready to buy

Pending pix, I'll have to shunt some $$$ into my PP account, it's been getting drained lately!

Doesn't the regular style of intake like a different cam than the plastic intake manifold? Or am I thinking of something else.

LilJayV10 - you are right & good point. IIRC the Single Plane 4 Barrel Type Intake manifolds like a little more lift/duration to pull the RPMs up top. They usually give up some low rpm TQ compared to the LS6/FAST style intakes.
I'm going to run a F13 cam (230/232 .595/.585 114* LSA) & not trying for max effort HP/TQ or anything so I hope I won't give up too much street-ability... Does anyone know what the Victors typically give up in HP & TQ down low compared to a LS6 or FAST?

BTW I sold my FAST 90/90 setup this week so now I have the $ for the Victor stuff

If you look around, you can go much cheaper. I did

Super Vic and fuel rails new in box from the classifieds $425 shipped
Accel 4150 tb from race-mart.com on sale for $325 shipped
Fittings and hose from race mart was about $100
Making my own tb bracket to use stock cables and cruise
That's it, need to buy an air cleaner but you already have that so you should be able to do it for $1000 or so if you know where to look

Hey Grr, thanks for the info!

That accel tb, did that work out ok for you? Did it come with the proper fittings & linkage to work? It only flows 750 cfm but I assume that is enough to feed properly a LS1 making ~550 hp at 7000 rpm?

Ths is where many mess up, that cam is all wrong for a single plane.. Think along the lines of big split in duration & tight lsa (110 or less).. For example, EPS has a single plane cam, specs are something like 236/248 on a 108lsa.

My accel tb flows 1200cfm, and it didn't come with any appropriate bracket ray, just stuff for a carb

MM98 - thanks for the tip. So you think that F13 will be a total down low What other cams are out there for single plane besides that EPS? That lift & duration has me worries for PTV clearance with a stock bottom end. Plus I would prefer something just a tad smoother that a lumpy 108 if possible. I understand there is no such thing as a free lunch & concessions will need to be made somewhere.

Grr - do you know what model your TB is? 74202s2 or 74202s3 perhaps?

I would run the f13 with a single plane, it will be just fine. Don't remember right now but it's the 4 hole 1200 cfm unit

The eps cam was just an example.. Your cam will work, just won't be optimal for your set-up.
