Default 2000 SS hood scoop?

Hey is the hood scoop on the 2000 SS functional? Just looking at some website that said in 2001 they made the hood scoop functional, which would mean it wasn't on 2000 models? I thought it was...

The OEM SS hoods have always been functional. Some of the aftermarket hoods may not be. What website are you on?

I dunno, it was some random website...I dunno why I asked, I've obviously seen the underside of my hood. Thanks though.

The air that is funneled into the hood scoop is redirected into the airbox. I think it does a U-turn if i'm not mistake. It's not a straight shot design like the ws6 hoods are though.

yes the SS hood is functional on all years. unless the owner otherwise did something to it. it just takes a little longer than the ramair hood since it wraps around. after it comes out through the wholes it feeds into the airbox.

p.s. the air enters thru the bottom of pic #2 so its back to front.

all OEM hood scoops were functional...im nto sure how the SS ram air works...but the WS6 ram air...works as a direct flow from the hoodscoops straight into the airbox...
so yes it does work...not very complicated concept either
