Default Need REALLY high heat plug wires, help

Ok so I have a 6.0l in my s10 and have a set of custom headers on it. About every 3-4 weeks I have a wire that gets burned through. I have tried stock truck wires, gto wires, and MSD wires, no luck EVEN with heat socks. Problem is #5 and #3 primaries come close together right after the header flange.

So what do you guys do for something like that? I am looking at a set of eBay wires that have short boots so the will stick closer to the block rather than between the primaries.

Here's a pic of the header:

You won't like my answer but you need to buy the granatelli wires with the heat wrap they are expensive but the warranty is top notch (lifetime) i personally own these wires and can vouch for the quality of them and they have never slipped off.

^ I was gonna say the same thing.

I think he will like them as they're the last wire set he'll ever buy for this engine.

NICE! I suppose moving the battery solved several problems at one time.

Thanks for posting!

That's the stuff.

It'll improve your engine's response.

Would you consider getting the header ceramic coated?

I already have them wrapped, problem is the wire sits between two of the primaries, basically touching both, so it's like a double whammy haha. I double sleeved my MSD so I guess we will see how long that lasts.

I have a ZR2 also and always wanted to put a 350 in it but for some reason I really want the LT1. Anyway, I can see your problem with those headers... looks great but a nightmare to work around. Besides the jethot or ceramic coating which sounds like even that wouldnt matter... all I can maybe throw out there is getting an extra long wire that you can route safely around the header coming up from under the primary and yeah it wouldnt look great.

I thought about doing a 350 before I decided on a 6.0l, then I said screw it. I like the efficiency, power, and looks. Plus everyone does a 350, when I started only about 3 people had documented builds with a LS motor.

Crazy question but did you see a fuel economy increase or decrease with the LS? Always thought the 4.3 was so inefficient that something like the 5.3 or LS derivative would actually improve the fuel economy.
