Question threw the belt

i just recently installed a Meziere EWP, and TC. The first few times that i drove the car i didn't have any problems at all. I take the car out last night and as soon as i jump on it it throws the belt. So now i'm kinda like WTF? Any ideas? I'm suposed to be going to the thrack tomorrow and was wondering if it would be ok?

Yeah, i figured that if he picked up a tenth with the short belt, maybe i could pickup 2 with no belt.

I figured that it might be something with the tensioner pulley but wasn't sure. Hopefully someone who knows will chime in.

Oh, by the way, CONGRATS!!!! I have been trying to catch you at the bar but have been a little busy.

Common problem. Many get the "Larry" pulley from ASP or a manually adjustable tensioner from Katech (Thunder). I have both

a larry pully has taller side rails and should hold the belt inplace.

I agree with a lot of other people. The pulley with the higher edges for your tensioner is cool and all, but it may not be for everyone. It won't change the fact that your tensioner jumps around like crazy. I got the Katech tensioner (which you can get from any number of sponsors...shop around the prices are different). It was like $130-$140 shipped. It was probably the easiest thing I have ever installed on my car. I added a new tensioner pulley from Advance for $15. They should have given better instructions with it though. Regardless, it looks very cool, costs about twice as much as the pulley, BUT if you ever have to replace the pulley again at least it is only $15 instead of like $60 or whatever that other one costs.

I put this on because I half threw my belt and didn't feel like finding out what would happen if I revved it up again without a better tensioner.

You can of course always put on a stock tensioner...but it will wear out. The Katech is adjustable with no springs to wear out.

You can buy the Larry pulley from Thunder Racing. You have to call them to order it though, since they don't have it up on their website (not when I ordered mine anyways). I was having the same problem with my car (belt flew off about 5 times), bought the Larry pulley, and haven't had a problem since.
