I think just a cross over block offs on the rear and when you replace the knock sensors get a new harness as well fora little piece of mind.

yeah you have to delete the EGR, the ls6 intakes dont have a provision for it. you might as well do an EGR and AIR block offs as well. Hell might as well get some headers lol.

you will need a 'tune' also as it will set off codes since your removing them which will also cause you to fail smog. Let me know if you need help with that.

and as stated above, you will need block off plates to the AIR tubes going to the headers.

Leave the coolent lines, you'll just shave the ridges off the ls6 to fit. Egr/block off plates. IDK if you plan on removing the AIR system while your doing it....I would..Wire harness, you might break the opsu, so heads up their (a lot do break it). Sell the ls1 on eBay when your done. I got 165$ for mine. New intake gaskets if your buying it used.

^^I agree, keep the ls1 coolant crossover, and just shave the fins off the bottom of the LS6 intake manifold. Here is a link to a picture of what fins to shave off... post 38 https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...anifold-2.html

I would also get rid of the EGR/AIR if you don't have emission testing where you live. I made my own block off plates with 1/8 steel. I didn't get a tune after I did my ls6 intake install and EGR/AIR delete, however, it will set codes off. So if you don't like to see your SES light on you will need a tune. Frost has great mail order tunes, and at a good price!

It'll take just basic hand tools to complete the swap. Good luck and enjoy the bump in power!

Dont get a tune until after you do headers, theres no point to get one now.

word of advice, when you pull the hose off the booster pull it around the back of the intake towards the pass side of the engine bay that way it goes around the opsu. When you go to lift the intake off youll need to somehow hold the back 4 bolts up, i used clothes hangers and it worked good. Lift it up then out so you can clear the bolt threads from the holes.

When you put the new knock sensors in make sure theyre tightened to spec (15 ft lbs IIRC) and put a nice layer of gasket maker around the top of the cups for the harness so water and moisture doesnt get into the sensors.

After the EGR is deleted can you just simply remove the Air pump assembly?

The 4 rear manifold bolts can be held up by looping a rubber band between each pair that will hold them up out of the way for the manifold removable. When you lift up the manifold up to remove it. Lift it straight up do not lift it front first or you will break off your plastic oil pressure sending unit. No tune is required at this time. You will pick up about 15/20 HP. Was the first mod I did years ago.

This link wil show you how to do it.

Again, leave the coolant line alone, theirs no need for the ls6 conversion. And you really should get rid of the air system while the intake is off. Theirs so many writeups, all you have to do is remove the pump and hoses. Cakework...and it opens/cleans up your engine bay.

Its super easy....while your at it you should (if you can) send your throttle body to POTZ..he ports the stock throttle body for like 50$..He's on eBay, a lot have used him, its well worth it.
