Default Borla Adjustable people come in.

I have the 3" borla catback running a wide open plate, i like the way the car sounds but am curious how directing flow thru the muffler changes the tone or if it changes volume only. What does the borla adjustable sound like thru the smaller plates?

The sound is just about the same to me. Which was to loud for my taste. Being that i have header with no cats. So made my own.

I got my car used with the adjustable catback. The first owner didn't give the plates to the dealer so mine is open. It was too quiet for me unless WOT but it did sound really good. I ended up putting on long tubes with ory and it still sounds really good imo.

My buddy has one on his car and with the half open plate I thought it wasn't too loud but I hated the tone. Very raspy at most rpms. He since put an electric cutout in it and when it's closed it sound nice IMO but a little quiet. With it open it's just raspy to me. He does have lts and an ory

No plate here. Purchased the car with this exhaust, no plates included with sale (dealership purchase)

Mine also has considerable rasp between 2500-3000 rpms. I plan on grabbing one of those bullet style mufflers for the I-pipe to cut down on the rasp. All things considered, I really do enjoy to tone that the borla puts out.

I put an electric cutout on mine. Im a head/cam/intake car and it is raspy and loud at full open and with it closed it cuts down on the rasp alot and the volume. I think the tone changes some too.

I have my borla in a couple configurations. Right now i have my electric cutout in where the plates go. Fully closed to fully open is only a volume change.

But I don't find the borla raspy at all. I like the sound.

I feel that the cutout closed(get the QTP cutout made for the Borla! Very simple install and works great) makes it slightly higher pitched. I like the Borla sound.

408 with LTs and no cats here.....

I have the Borla wide open. The middle plate quieted it down some. Since I installed ARH LT's/ARH cats I have the plate out and love it. At WOT it really screams!
