4 inch singel pipe?

Mine is Pacesetters with a dual 3" to single 4" Flowmaster merge, over axle with Magnaflow and a single turndown at the bumper. It tucks pretty good and is loud at WOT. Built from an off the shelf diesel OTA pipe and some elbows. Fabricated by a friend. Cost me about $250 in parts a few years back.

Most ls1's don't do that, I'm sure a handfull have, but most in my area def don
t. That's with 3.27's and a 28" tall tire on the stock stall. Slp lid and no tune on top of that.
Went 11.50, but I also don't think a lot go 125 mph with the same mods and a 125 shot with 12% of what ever stock timing is taken out with a diablo... and no tune still.

I high lighted the problem. why on earth would you put a 28" tire with a stock stall and 3.27's. 28" tires do nothing but slow you down at these power levels.

I understand Noise doesn't make HP. I want people to know I am there, and still be able to think while I am in the car. $ inch pipe is easy to get and it's cheaper most of the time because it will most likely come off a Diesel truck. Just throwing around Ideas and seeing what other thought.

After looking at that guys 4'' over axel pics, there is no doubt that is the way I would go if I was to do it all over again. The 3'' true duals over axel look and sound cool, but I need a little more space. I dont think the 4" is going to flow what the 3" duals will, but stock cube motor isnt going to fill either of them up.

This debate is beaten to death isn't it? LOL. I got sick of "loud" real quick, but I liked the added power of a less restrictive exhaust... so what did one do? An electric cutout. I picked up 20rwhp through my 4" cutoff that's located before the over-the-axle pipe and SLP Dual/Dual muffler. Here's a video. Mild to wild within seconds. Car went 11.90's with the cutout closed, and then 11.70's with it open on the same day. Something to consider for all you guys that were worried about noise and losing power by using a relatively quiet (which we all know is usually restrictive) exhaust.

20hp with a cutout..that's nuts. I don’t think the OP is looking for a throw on fix for HP gains, rather than a free flowing exhaust that also eliminates the rasp and drone of the usual sub 3" Y pipe config. You can quiet down a single 4 using resonators/mufflers and still flow all the air an N/A car is going to push.

^^^Yes, and some of us do NOT drag race, and want that power ALL of the time, NOT only at the push of a button, which will send the noise level TOTALLY over the limits of road course restrictions/local LEO's 'built-into their brains db meters'.
