want to quiet down my trumpet of an exhaust
Well i dont care to make my car quieter i really just want to get rid of the trumpet sound it makes, , i just want to get rid of the annoying trumpet sound it makes after 1800rpm. my set up is TSP 1 7/8" longtubes, tsp ory pipe, and LM2 catback, Now would it get rid of that annoying trumpet sound if i got one of those slip fit spun cats ? i dont feel like spending another $350 on a tsp catted ypipe.
I was thinking this cat ? http://www.jegs.com/i/Magnaflow/642/59929/10002/-1
Heres a vid of my car

I pretty much have the same setup OP, but only with a LM1...which is worse actually lol! I am looking for something cheap, and have decided on a Flowmaster merge pipe along with a Magnaflow 14419 muffler. Have you considered that?

Magnaflow will make a huge difference. I had LMIIs dumped before and went to a 4" over the axle with a dynomax bullet in the I and a magnaflow in the stock location. Quietened it down a ton. If you have room I would run two mufflers. If not just replacing it with a magnaflow will tone it down.

There has to be a 1000 threads on this topic.
The sounds you are referring to is a result of the exhaust design. The way the pulses are coming together in that rpm range is causing a resonance. Cats will hide it, a better merge wil decrease it, an different muffler may hide some of it, but the only real cure is a tru dual exahust system.
