My car was factory optioned with the CME from SLP, and the previous owner installed a cutout.

The sound was obviously LS sound, even with the cutout open.

A week or so ago, I had the factory y-pipe swapped out with the Walker ORY.

OH MY GOD.

Through the factory muffler, it's really quiet until about 2K rpm, then it really starts singing. A number of my car guy friends and I think it dramatically changed the note of the exhaust.

With the cutout open, fuuuuuu..........I've never felt bad about driving a car with loud exhaust until now. I live in a rural area of south Texas, and I STILL feel kinda shitty like I'd be upsetting the few neighbors I do have.

If I can find a proper video camera or some decent sound recording equipment, I'll shoot an exhaust vid. I mean, not only to show off this particular sound, but to show how badass an ORY can sound even on stock manifolds.

ive had my set up on for a couple weeks now, and it sounds amazing. I plan on running it out of the back, and reloating the mufflers to right before the tips

Do not suggest huge cams for just the sound, such bad info, never do that, all that will do is have your cam car running like a dog without the right supporting mods

I believe you. I put nothing more than an ORX on a Mustang GT. Stock manifolds, stock mufflers the thing sounded pretty damn good!! So I imagine the same concept should apply to an F body with a Y pipe system.

No longtubes here, but my Corsa and ORY make me happy
most terminator-esque sound i've heard from an ls1.

The video is from a handheld camera, so some bass is missing, but the sound is the best i have the ability to record with. Skip to 2:30 when i drive away to not have to wait for traffic

A lot of people on Tech don't think very logically lol. With that said, here's my set up I had on my old 2000 ws6. 1 3/4 lt's, TSP ORY and TSP Rumbler catback with a Magnaflow bullet instead of the Dynomax bullet. I also had the reducer at the y-merge cut out and replaced with a piece of 3" pipe so I have a full 3" merge. This is with stock heads/cam, just a bolt on car.
