Default Want my camaro to sound like a mustang

Please don't hate me..

I love the way the SVT mustangs have that deep howl sound

How can I get my 2000 Z28 to sound the same?

Chevy for life!

How do you feel about a 32V swap and a true dual setup? That's going to be the easiest way.

Coming from a Mustang myself I can tell you it's not going to happen! True duals are your best bet, but it's not a Mustang and never will be, so don't expect it to sound like one lol

Be proud of the Camaro you drive & love its own sound it makes. If this doesn't work, well than convert to Ford... nice knowin yea!

True h pipe with chambered Flowmasters, no cats on the stock manifolds will be the absolute closest you will get.

You will never get there because of the engine. It's a different engine with a different firing order.

As stated above, you'll never get that sound. If you want it to be as close as possible, you'll need to plumb in a set of true duals with a catless h-pipe going to 2-chamber Flowmasters.

Suffice to say, you don't have much room to get all of that under the car and still have decent clearance.

Plan B: Sell Camaro and buy a Mustang.

My personal point of view -- I LOVE the sound of a Mustang. An older fox body with an off-road H-pipe and 2-chamber Flowmasters might not be the fastest thing on the road, however it could sound like it was!

Once I accepted that my Camaro would never sound like a Mustang, I finally started to appreciate the unique sound it does make.

Slap a lopey cam in there coupled with long-tube headers, off-road y-pipe and electronic cutout going to the catback of your choice and you'll find you have a beast of your own. I choose to partially open the e-cutout -- adds volume without the rasp and flows better than flowing 100% through the catback (however you still get the benefit of the tone of the mufflers). Most of the comments I get on the exhaust note are to the tune of "you just don't hear cars that sound like that anymore".

I'm pretty new here but wanted to chime in.
I'm kind of going to go off what Midnight02 said but with what I can recommend.
Try throwing a cam like MS3 on with a catless trual duals.
Just type in MS3 Cam in a youtube search and you'll see what I mean.

True duals and magnapacks. Your car will sound better than a mustang. Headers, x pipe, over the axle to magnapacks. The sound is very clean and deep.

Mine has L/t's, high flow cats, and Borla with no baffle and imo it sounds better that a mustang, much better than my buddy's stock '04 termy.

The only time you'd hear a Mustang is when you're behind one. Thankfully that's never happened to me LOL.

yea man you shouldn't even be hearing stangs. Get you some true duals and Sweet Thunders and you won't be able to hear any other exhaust.

LOL you must be smoking something. Most LSx f-bodys sound like your farting into a trashcan. i have true duals and it still sounds like it at mid-rpm.
