Default Need help building a sleeper!

So I just recently picked up a bone stock 2001 WS6 a4. I've always wanted to start with a stock car and run it (1/8th mile), mod for mod to see how the car changes from one mod to the next.

The plan is to see how fast i can get the car to go N/A with stock heads/cam.
So far I've got a handful of parts stacked up but only the things I'm certain I need, the rest I have a pretty good idea of what I want but not sure if its the best for what I want

The plans: I'll start from the rear of the car and work forward

Rear: MT 275 drag radials, 4.30 gears, sway bar, tubular; lca's phb and Tq arm.

Exhaust: 1 3/4 headers or 1 7/8? Into an ory w/ electric cutout

Tranny: not sure on a brand just yet but looking at 3800-4000 stall

Intake: FAST 92/92 with smooth bellows, but unsure if I should go with a stock style lid/filter setup or use a corvette style open filter

Shocks: no clue, will be driven on the street alot but still want the max I can get out of her at the track

Misc: UD pulley, various minor weight reduction, sub frame connectors etc

So I really need to get every bit out of every mod from the car, but there's not a whole lot of NA stock h/c cars being documented to go by. So the more help the better! Thanks guys!

4.30 gears?? I hope this won't be driven on the highway lol those are gonna be a pain in the *** with an auto, may want to stick to 3.73's for street use

Exhaust: 1 3/4 headers or 1 7/8? Into an ory w/ electric cutout

Do 1-7/8" you'll regret it if you don't, plan for future mods

Tranny: not sure on a brand just yet but looking at 3800-4000 stall

If you want a serious racing transmission, FLT, RPM, Rossler, or Jakes would be good. For a converter, if this is gonna be pretty much just a strip car, I'd go with a 4000-4400 from FTI, PTC, or Circle-D, step those back a couple hundred rpm for more of a street application unless it doesn't bother you.

Intake: FAST 92/92 with smooth bellows, but unsure if I should go with a stock style lid/filter setup or use a corvette style open filter

Stick with the lid style for now, shouldn't hold you back much if at all really

Shocks: no clue, will be driven on the street alot but still want the max I can get out of her at the track

Should have put this street thing closer to the top lol, now I gotta edit my answers! QA1 shocks are some of the best for drag racing, suspension you really can't go wrong as long as you go with a premium company. BMR, UMI, or talk to Sam Strano.

Misc: UD pulley, various minor weight reduction, sub frame connectors etc

I've seen N/A stock h/c cars run 11's. Friend of mine down the street has done it with his '00 TA.

Ya I figured the 4.30's would be one of the biggest advantages since it will only be at the track and around town, I have other vehicles for highway trips

only thing i dont agree with is the fast intake..performance per dollar is useless while your basically still stock. the benefits from that come when you build the engine. plus you have the ls6 intake which flows very well

Not worried about the budget, and I know the big intake/tb won't be fully utilized with stock h/c but I'll need it later down the road when I eventually go H/C

+1 on the QA1 shocks, or Strange coilovers for the front, or AFCO.

I ran Competition Engineering shocks on the back of one of my cars, a lot of drag racer guys liked those, very budget friendly too. But heads up, they will ride ROUGH on the street lol.

Weight will be the biggest help.

Actual sleeper.. Turbo car that sounds stock until you get in boost and runs 10s.
