ls6 intake problem

I have a ls6 intake that was ported for a 85mm tb. the inner edges that hold the gasket into place normally have been shaved down. the gasket holds itself into place around the top but i put some gasket maker around it to hold it on and let it dry, seems to do the trick. I bolted my tb to it to smash the gasket to see if that will work. I'm concerned if it will be safe to run it with the gasket exposed? I've pushed on the gasket from the inside and it seems to be in there good... should I run it this way?

IMO, I'd probably just make a gasket with some Fel-Pro - Gasket Material.
This way you don't have any worry about it possibly getting sucked into the heads.

I would not run that, its just asking for a vacuum leak

So paper gasket would be better? Doesn't seem like it'd seal to me

Gasket material is available in a variety of materials other than pure cellulose-fiber. If you're content with your fix that's your choice; but it sure wouldn't be mine.

Good find. I looked earlier but only on Google and had no luck. I only found it with their adapter plate. Hopefully that will help the OP out.

wow thanks for the help, I was about to get some expoy and fill the edge in a little and sand it so there was more of a flat surface. Im going to try the 85mm gasket first, save me some sanding. Hopefully the outer edge is enough to make it seal
