Car runs amazing now!!

Unscrewed the passenger and drive side o2's and swapped them... And it runs great. I mean, amazing.

In closing; the drivers side o2 on the harness side is screwed into the passenger side, and the pass o2 is screwed into the driver side, and the car runs great.

I'm baffled. Completely baffled.

Is the 04 PCM different when it comes to O2 sensors? I've always heard if you cross the o2's then you'll get the same symptoms I had. Fouled one side and white the other...

Makes sense if you had them backwards at the pcm. So what happens is if bank2 is reading lean, it's actually bank1. So it continues to add fuel to bank2 but never gets the response it's seeking, till you go full enrichment with the fuel trims and foul out the plugs, or the opposite. It sees a rich condition, tries to lean it out, continues to do so, and leans it out till it knocks so bad.
One easy way to have checked that would have been to monitor fuel trims and see if the fuel trims were matching what the O2's were reading. Glad to hear it's fixed and running well.

Apparently that's how the 04's are. The after cat o2 sensors are SUPPOSED to be crossed. So when it was repinned, the same principe applies via the harness itself.

Glad you figured it out....and now that I think about it I crossed the wires/O2
sensors for no other reason than they just seemed to fit proper that way.
I would have hung myself before trying/fixing that dilemma that you figured
out......GREAT JOB MAN !!!!!!

They make it so lean because they are working getting all that exhaust out and sucking in more air. I bet you'll see a nice bump once you get the afr's in check.
