get the overdrive alternator pulley and you'll be fine. I havent had an issue in the 7 years I've run it.

Thanks guys, and to the retard that says search. I landed on 3 different threads that had the same ******* response when i searched, idiots like that ruin it for everyone. I even clicked one on of the links in said thread with links to other threads like you did, and one of them told the OP to use the search function on top of the thread that linked me there. Appreciate the help though guys.

IMO the best solution, IF you have any charging problems is to have the idle bumped up to 800rpm(with A4 trans.). This way you don't risk damaging you alternator from over revving it.
With a M6 trans you should be fine unless you're running a high wattage stereo with a lot of amperage draw.

I have a 25% PB. No charging issues. My alternator ended up dying a few months after the build but IDK if I can blame the pulley.
I have a 150a powermaster alternator now and no issues at all.
Do the pulley IMO.

No issues whatsoever with my SLP (powerbond). I'm a M6, however (and factory stereo).

25% UD powerbond, been on the car from 50K the 2st year I got the car to 8XK miles now still on my stock alt. ran it with the stock cam, and some big ones. shifted as high as 7300, motors been over 8K on some miss shifts. I've heard some guys have had alt brush float spinning it to fast (8K+)with the UD pulley. doing a 1-2-1 Seen the tach coming down form pegged for 1 sec,

Whenever I had my WS6 (a4) it had a Powerbond 25% under drive pulley without any overdrive pulleys on anything and it charged fine, cooled fine, AC worked perfect, and my power steering felt the same. I installed a 25% Powerbond under drive pulley on my C5 (m6) and noticed the same thing. Gained throttle response on both, but no negatives. Both cars were tuned though so the pulley was accounted for, not sure if that reversed anything that the pulley might could have caused, but I've never had an issue with any of mine.

I have had underdrive pullies on several different vehicles with no ill effects. One of them was a rock crawler. Even running a winch and 4 HID's, there were no issues.
