Default AMW Catchcan Results

Well after about300 miles and 20 passes at the track I decided to check my catchcan. It had a thin layer of oil in the bottom of it. Theres absolutely do doubt you wouldnt want this going into your intake. I also had installed the Metco breather at the same time and Im guessing I would have gotten even more oil in the catchcan without it. My oil consumption is also way down, I attribute that to the Metco breather. Im very pleased with the results of both of these.

I'm pushing Todd at AMW to make an oil breather cap to replace the oil fill cap, with that set up you wouldn't have to remove the neck. You just know the people at AMW can make a nice looking piece to replace just the oil fill cap, so anyone out there that thinks that's a good idea speak up.

Dark Age 53, you're Al, the guy I talked to this week right? Jason here. If you get any info about that filler cap/filter idea for for the stock mount, or if there is one, send me a link to it, I definately wanna do that after some more research that I did. Definately won't be any bd side effects, that and the catch can, I'd bet that well ovwer 50% of oil comsumption will probably go away. My car's at tht shop this weekend, headers/tune getting done, I'll send you a e-mail with the results after.

Paul, can you e-mail me the pics? alcar24@hotmail.com

Jason, I'd lke to see Todd at AMW make it but if not I'll check more into what NastySSoo has posted about, I know it's not a big deal to remove the oil fill neck but why do that if you can just replace the cap?

Got it Paul, mailed you back but unless I'm missing something that's what everyone sells. I'm asking Todd if they can make just a breather that replaces just the oil cap not the whole unit. Let me know if I'm missing something here. Thanks

Al, did you see the billet piece sitting next to the breather. The filter goes on the billet piece and the billet piece screws right on the oil filler neck. You just take your cap off and screw the piece in. Ignore the picture of the valve cover. That billet piece screws right into the filler neck.

Paul, I understand what you're saying but I'm confused why people say you need to remove the filler neck, I'm going to wait and see if Todd is going to make a breather before getting the Metco breather.

Here's the link of the breather your talking about, and you're saying the peice next to the breather is what you replace the oil cap with? http://www.southfloridapulleyhq.com/...l_breather.jpg

Thats correct, you simply remove the oil filler cap and screw it in. No need to remove the oil filler neck.

I will 2nd this can got the can for an LSX intake, didn't want it gummed up & all is well.
1K & about 20 passes+ & the intake inlet is still dry.
No oil consuption issues at all.
Mine made a 1/8 of mostly water nasty mix in the bottom of the can.
I also have my can mounted near battery & A/C drier so the hoses are a little longer.
Wanted that set up so the oil could cool a little more before hitting the can & pool up easier inside.
