Default Changing Valve covers and have an issue....

I want to make sure I do the correct routing......

I have a 6.0 in my 99 T/A and everything was fine, I went to do some custom shaved valve covers for it myself and grabbed a set and went to town. They are from a Camaro come to find out. And of course I didnt find out until I went to swap them that I have the Truck style on my car.

1st question is can I make them work properly??

I have a catch can installed on the car as well.

My covers have a grommet on the drivers side rear and the pass side has 2 nipples on it where the ones I fixed up have a nipple on the drivers side vs. the grommet hole and only have one nipple on the passenger side.

Is this something that is going to ruin my project or can it be made to work properly?

THanks in advance!
Dave

Yeah, I'd just cap the rear port on the passenger side with the LS1 valve covers.

Well that is what is on there now...the ones with 2 ports on the pass side.

THe new one only has one port up towards the front of the motor on the PS side now.

So are you still running the stock PCV system with the Y splitter right behind the intake, were it goes to the PS rear port?

I ran into that issue when I put my new powdercoated valve covers on...

fortunately I already did the LS6 PCV conversion so I just capped off both ports.

I have an LS6 Valley...so I just cut the fitting off and installed a hose section to plug it into the drivers side nipple just as it was before...then I can cap off the connection that was originally going to the P/S rear nipple that no longer exists right?

With a ls6 valley cover I'd actually just reuse the two rear ports for fresh air inlets to help evenly flush any dirty air out of the crank case.
That's what I did on my engine and the oil now looks and smells cleaner longer now.

You could just reuse the factory PCV dirty air assembly, then instead of running it to the side of the intake manifold just run a length of hose up to the TB side port.
