Default slp air intake or no?

I have a 2002 trans am ws6 and i was wondering if this package would make more power than the stock ram air intake. Any help or suggestions is appreciated thanks. This is the package im looking at http://www.slponline.com/product/210...e-Package.html

I personally would use the slp lid and then choose between the SSRA or chris1313 ram air.

That stainless "CAI" actually raised my IAT readings
substantially when I installed it. It also shrouds the
condenser badly. I only use the upper couple of inches,
hacked off the rest and made custom air path to the
nose-pocket instead. With the "nostrils" relieved of
styrofoam, my IAT readings are back to near-ambient.

Kit is a big rip-off. Only the lid is worth anything, and
it's worth no more than any other.

Just get the lid, the bellow and filter aren't worth the extra $230 or so. I had the SLP lid on my old SS and I just put one on my otherwise stock SS today, good first little mod, definitely feel a difference in throttle response.

I agree that the SLP lid and SSRA or Chris1313 is your best bet

i have an SLP CAI.

i got it because it doesnt block anything. i have no problems running hot because of it.

yes, theres better options i just prefer not to block my radiator or chance sucking up water.

i've had my slp cai for maybe 7 years with no problems. the air filter is much dirtier above the cai so i know its working. i didnt want to take on water if it rains so i didnt go with the ssra.

I ran the SLP lid and a ches1313 non AC ram air (the big one) for years and never had any issues. It was my daily driver and went through so e pretty substantial down pours of rain. South Louisiana... You get the picture.

Never an issue with water ingestion. Unless you drive the car into a lake, I don't see it happening.

And for the hotter coolant temps some folks will say, I had an LT1 radiator with a 160 stat and she stayed nice and cool, even in bumper to bumper traffic. Just have the fans tuned accordingly to come on at a lower temp.

I agree that the SLP lid is a great mod. I have it on my WS6 and the fitment was great.

IMO, SLP lid and SSRA. with the SSRA you can remove the bottom half if you feel it's necessary.
