Default Cleanest Deepest growl

So i just got my Cammed 370CI going and have a custom true dual single chamber flowmaster setup (Which i HATE) What set up gives you a good clean DEEP growl, and doesn't restrict or rob your horsepower? I would like to stay away from turndowns.

surprised you hate that setup, it's the best sounding thing IMO

I would guess you are going to be looking for large chamber packed type mufflers for what you describe...think XR1 race mufflers? Maybe someone else will have a better idea. The large magnaflows might also do it but not sure they will fit an fbody.

I know you said no turndowns but that will make any exhaust sound deeper than leaving them straight cut

My vote would go for the Magnaflow as well.

if its a true dual setup. put a powerstick on both sides (put in backwards) then put a madhammer pipe after that. it'll sound great!
this is a y-pipe setup, but still relevant: https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...vids-pics.html

Magnaflow seems to have a very clean and deep tone IMO

Keep it!!! Im runing LS6 heads and TSP 233/239 cam with 1 chambers dumped. It sounds sick. It is pretty loud. Not sure if its as loud as dynomax bullet but it does have a deep sound to it.

I would definitely consider turndowns. You will not regret this setup.

I do like the way turndowns sound. However it is louder in the car and gets dirty quicker.
Has anyone heard in person or had the 4" Mufflex? And i do like the way the magnaflow sound on YouTube

As far as a y pipe system foes I Pl resonant think it's the sinister exhaust from hawks third gen. I own kooks true dual exhaust system. It's behind a 376 with a cam and it have a totally different type of growl from a y pipe.

Chambered mufflers will give you the deepest growl. However, Powersticks aren't stainless, stainless works have a pretty small ID, and madhammer only makes 2.25" ones. Sweet thunders are probably your best bet.

I have. Both with the Spintech dual out and the Flowmaster single out. Neither compares to my current dual 3" Flowmaster single chamber setup. Do you have any pictures of your exhaust? Do you run any kind of merge?

I had XR1 true dual dumps, I've yet to hear anything sound better or cleaner than it.

I'd look at the following mufflers: Borla XR-1, Dynomax Ultra Flo, QTP AR3 , Hooker Max Flow, Magnaflow

What you have OP should fit what you want to a "T". In no way shape or form do the 1 chamber Flowmasters restrict horsepower.

Mine is in no way high pitched, and has absolutely no rasp.

An X will have a higher pitch than an H setup, especially as rpms climb. Rasp , as we know it on here, should be a nonissue. LS series tend to have a little higher pitch than an SBC as well.
