Default LS1 air lid question

Hey all, I have a 98 z28 camaro with a no name lid, was wondering why the lid neck isn't centered with the throttle body? Everything is bolted down right and the seal is fine. I attached a pic so maybe someone will chime in with what could cause this? Thanks all!

My 2001 Z28 was similar. I couldn't ever figure it out; however, I didn't keep it long enough to really discover the reason. I'm certainly interested to see some ideas people have. The only thing I could figure would be due to an accident that wasn't correctly repaired.

Take off your lid is the middle of your air box directly straight in front of your throttle body? If not I bet the front of your car has shifted because of an accident or something

They're most certainly not all like that. I've had three; only one had that "issue"

Thanks for all the replies everyone. I'm gonna assume there was some front end damage from the previous owner. I'm confused because the bolt holes for the air lid tray are centered to the throttle body, but once I bolt everything down its off center like that. Could the radiator be mounted incorrectly? Here's another pic from a different angle. Once again thanks for all the replies.

See if its the part your air lid sits on, maybe its off center? Or the air lid is crap.. put a tape meausre rom the middle of your air box straight back.. does it hit the throttle body?

The four bolts which hold the upper radiator support (aka the lower airbox mount) to the frame only have so much free play left-to-right. Typically the left side of that box has a semi-circular notch for the radiator cap... you might be able to loosen those four bolts and slide the support to the left as far as it will go. If that doesn't improve it enough then I suspect it had an impact on the passenger side which pushed that side forward, causing it to be angled towards the driver side.

I just took some measurements of mine. From the back of the driver side upper radiator support to the front face of the power steering fluid reservoir is ~5 3/8"; from the back of the passenger side upper radiator support to the front face of the cylinder head to the right of the idler pulley is ~10 1/4". Also between the battery and the PS headlamp there is a frame brace... the distance between that brace and the wheel well is also about 10 1/4".
