Gotcha. Hopefully someone near Houston will see this and offer up some dyno time to help the LS community. I will be sending off my LS6 soon.

I am super interested in this intake.

From what I gather other than the steam lines under the factory ls1 intake, buying a 90mm tb and deleting egr and air, tune, this is a direct swap on a 2000 Ls1. Am I reading this correct?

Get a 92mm TB. Easier find and fits up perfectly.

AIR! would not be required, and you could probably get the EGR to work still if you want.

I'll be doing long tubes at the same time most likely so I'll drop the egr and air. I'm off to look for a 92mm tb. Thanks

I will either drop the intake off for flow testing next week then send it to Peak Performance for a little basic clean up porting. I want to have Peak port the WARR TB to ensure a perfect match to the intake. Ideally flow the intake again to see what the change is. If the flow testing gets expensive I may only to before or after. I also want to get my LSXRT & TBSS flowed with the same heads. I think this would be good info to share with the LS community. Cost will be the determining factor.

I will probably have to use the rear attachment point for the MAP. The intake's EGR port will be used for EGR attachment. Have to maintain emissions compliance.

WARR 92mm TB, seems to be a good piece to my casual inspection.
Thanks for clarifying the price and info. I have a friend that is planning on doing pretty much the same upgrades , Dorman LS2 and Lingenfelter cnc 243s . He has not decided what 92 tb at this point. It would be absolutely great if have the intake tested. The problem getting accurate results is most guys do there upgrades in groups , several upgrades altogether and dyno test which makes it difficult to see what each one is as a net gain by it self. My prediction is the Dorman out of the box will flow 260 cfm range , maybe 270 with those heads behind it. Those LPE heads you have are those with the 2.05 intake valve ?

Omc8, my LPE S2 243's have 2.02 intake valve so the flow won't quite be as much as the 2.05 valve. I will have them flowed on 4 inch bore. If the cylinder head shop is agreeable maybe on a 3.9 bore too.

Ideally, it would good to flow the LSD2 with a stock 241 LS1 head az well to get an idea of potential on stock motors.

My friend went with LPE cnc 243s 62 cc BTR .660 springs titanium retainers and stock valves. So you are one up on him with the bigger valves .Right now he is leaning toward using the Holley Sniper 92 tb . He is running a LPE GT 12 cam , he is very interested to see what your testing results. I have read good reviews on that Warr 92 tb your going with , but have never seen it that color , is that blue anodized ? Curious to see how well you find that Warr tb to perform .

The heads are very similar BTR platinum springs good to .600 and titanium retainers here also. Ironically, I have a GT1-2 cam that may end up being used in the motor build. How does your friend like the GT1-2? What sort of power curve?

WARR listed anodized color choices on their site, I think mine is the anodized blue.

He installed the GT1 2 cam , Dorman LS6 and longtubes and shaved .5 off his et. He likes the cam , only thing is it peaks @ 6300rpm and drops off pretty quickly . With this new lighter valve train I expect that to carry out a bit more . Its going to be about 4 weeks before he has everything installed and his car ready to go. How long do you think it be ,or when do you expect to get those first flowbench tests on the Dorman LS2 ?

Sounds like a nice gain. This coming Tuesday I plan to drop the intake & heads off at a shop to get them flowed. Hopefully, we will get some info next week.

So does anyone know if a LS3 rail will fit a LS2 I take?

I thought the ls2/ls3 rails were the same, just different height because ls3 injector body is shorter.

My plan to get the LS2D intake flow tested this week with LPE S2 243 heads has turned out to be too ambitious. My shop of choice won't be able to do the testing for several weeks. I will update when I have results.

dang that sucks. maybe a company can just dyno test it like they did the LS6D intake. maybe even put it up against a oem ls6 (since it flows better then the dorman), and then a fast 90 since it appears to replicate it.

That's why I was hoping someone in my area would pony up some dyno time. I am fixing to have a TPIS LS6 intake, I am currently running a stock LS6, and I'm sure someone in the area would be willing to let us borrow the Dorman LS2. I will provide the test mule (run of the mill 228/230 cam, 243 head, full bolt on 00' Z28) and the wrench/turning time. It would be great for the entire LS community including shops.

Default LS2 swap

So what all is needed to do this swap on an LS1? Intake, 92mm throttle body, and what else? Fuel rails?

My guess is the same as an ls6 intake install with the addition of the tb.
