The ls6 intake is selling for around 300, here is the part number 615-900. There are a few threads about it already.

$300 is really good if it's truly comparable to the original LS6

I've read a little about it, but didn't know any specifics. The LS2 version sounds like it would likely be even cheaper

Why would you want the LS2 intake, especially a cheap aftermarket poorly made version?

Its my understanding that dorman is basing their ls2 intake off of their ls6 intake, which flows pretty good. Basically they are building an ls6 intake with a 90mm snout.

Because if it's made like there "LS6" intake it will have a FAST 78/90 lower shell with there own upper sonic welded to it. So unless they completely botch designing and making the top half of the intake it will be 90% as good as a FAST 90 but only cost ~$300 new.

From all the discussion on the Dorman intakes I have gathered they are complete horse ****. Now I don't have any first hand experience with any of them, but I can only deduct from what others who have said.

I hope I am wrong and someone actually does some testing on these to see if they are the real deal cuz that would be a good budget replacement for the FAST intakes.

Well Anything would be better than the ls1 intake. The Dornan was only lacking 3hp under the ls6. Plus you can port it easily. For $300 that's winning.

I've heard bad things about some of their other ones. But I think the dyno test done with their ls6 says a lot. Just a few hp shy of a factory ls6 on a built motor. And that is the handicapped out of the box stock version. Refer to other threads to see the handicaps. When one of us who actually has one and is opening it up puts it to the test, then we can judge. Until then, who knows. I will be greatly disappointed if mine doesn't perform better than a factory ls6. For $300 and some of my time, I'm very satisfied. If they come out with a 90 mm ls2 replacement I'll buy one of those too, for comparison sake.

Only one I'm seeing on Rock Auto is the OEM one, which is not the one being discussed here. We are hoping for a reproduction intake through Dorman that will hopefully perform better than the OEM piece.

Well Im going to wait and see if Dorman is going to make a LS2 version. Id like a FAST expert to confirm exactly what the lower shell is. I believe its a FAST 90 . Ive called FAST and they no long support the old 78 or 90. They will only talk to you about there current stuff the black 92 , LSXR 102 and ect.
