Its not pretty, but i would try and fix it before buring new headers. I think if you get a studd gun(they are used for body work, they weld small studs to metal so you can pull on it with a slide hammer) weld some studds on the tube, heat it up, and pull the dents out. It still wont look great. But the header will still be useable.

Its due for an oil change. That's the least of my worries right now though. The car will live on a lift until I figure out a repair or order a new header.

It's obvious that you probably don't even own a car with long tube headers or you would know that this is something that happens very easily.
Being a douchebag in your first post on here is no way to make friends with people who might very well help you out of a jam one day when your old enough to own a car!

In regards to your header is it just dented or is the actual metal shaved off to the point where it's thinned out to much to try the studd gun and slide hammer method? Would it be possible to somehow cut out the damage and weld some stainless patches in place? Again won't be pretty but it would be alot cheaper then replacing the headers.

You could get real fancy with a stud gun and a slide hammer.

I guess you could disconnect the exhaust from the header, heat the absolute **** out of the pipe and use a long pry bar going through the collector and push down on the pipe from the inside. It wont look pretty but might work? Or just be ghetto an leave it.

Will Kooks sell just one header? Hit them up and maybe they can help out.

That looks heavy. Can you loose minimum HP or air flow with a dent/damage like that?

I hate when people bring up post count. Just because I don't spend hours of my life on the Internet. FYI, I am professional race car driver. I drive flat out all the time and never hit anything! #boss #swag. Know your facts before you criticize... Noob.

Its closed up pretty good. That's more than 50% blocked. Its leaking at the manifold gasket on that primary, probably due to the restriction. So that car is hanging out on the lift til I get a new header, or pull it out, or maybe get someone to cut and weld if its possible.

I'm not a welder but you would think your problem spot could be cut out and a " patch " welded in there for cheap

Also not a welder, also thought the same thing. I wish you could tag people in forums as if it were twitter or facebook. I'm sure Kook's aim business-wise is to sell another header (makes sense) but I'd be interested to see what their take is. I'll probably shoot them an email.

The header has to come off anyway, why don't ya pull it off and run up to a welding/machine shop and see what they can do?

This was my thought earlier aswell. I was talking with a good friend of mine who has helped me alot with all my car builds he said he had similiar damage to one his Dougs headers and although not pretty they were able to cut and weld in a stainless patch on the spots without taking the header off the car, mind you he has a very nice 70 nova ss with alot more room under there then what we have on the f-bodys so you might have to pull the header.
