Default This bolt spins when engine is running!

Please help, I recently installed a new alternator onto my formula and I made the mistake of removing the bolt that is circled in the picture. Since I put it back on, the bolt spins when the engine is running and makes a loud ringing noise from the spinning. I can actually see the bolt wiggling it self out. This car is my daily driver and I'm afraid the bolt will come out while i'm driving on the highway. Please advise how I could resolve this.

Thanks!

Default pulley supposed to spin?

Is the pulley supposed to be able to spin? When I tighten the bolt down, the pulley also becomes tight. Afterwards, when I started my car and the pulley turned red hot from all the friction. Clearly I must be doing something wrong. Sorry I am a noob.

Do you have that metal plate between the pulley and the bolt

You need to take it apart and make sure it is assembled correctly, and that the bearing is not seized.

Did you use the right Bolt? It should bottom out and have the pulley still spin freely

Ah, yes I used the same bolt. Thank you for that information. I went back out and really tightened it down. Upon then it appeared to work like you described but there's a slight squeale coming from that area now. No big deal though, I'm just glad it's not sliding out anymore. Thanks for the help. I will plan on replacing the whole pulley.
