Default Need opinions on next mod

Alright guys I need some help deciding on my next mod

Right Now mods are

Custom 232/234 .626.626 111+4
Borla longtubes, Xpipe, Cutouts,
BBK intake mani and TB 80mm
CAI
Stock ls1 heads with ls7 lifters, trunion upgrade ect..

Im thinking of ditching the BBK intake and TB before I do heads
Ill be sending my heads to advanced induction. Seems to be the most cost effective for me.

That being said.

I was hoping to find a used Fast 90 or 92 but I dont want to do it if im not going to gain anything
Seems like my current setup should be able to outflow the LS6 intake by a few hp.

What kind of gains do you guys think id see from swapping to a FAST intake and bigger TB? Im probably not going to do heads til next year

I could spend about the same amount of money on a new nitrous setup but Nitrous is a pain in the A$$

Maybe like 10-15 unported and closer to maybe 20 hp ported. Works better the more mods that you have

Well that depends....for instance say you sell the BBK for let's say $400 then buy a used Fast for say maybe $700...now it's not such a bad bang for the buck

I would think I could sell my bbk mani and Tb for 600 or so.. If I could find a fast 78 I would do that in a heartbeat

Honestly I'd shoot for at least a Fast 90 if it were me. Plenty of great deals out there. You just have to be diligent and patient

Another possible option for you to consider is buying a 3bolt to 4bolt adapter and then mildly porting the adapter and BBK SSI inlet to 90-92mm. Then you could easily run a 90-92mm tb and gain more power. Look at it this way, you'll need to buy a new tb anyway if you go with a FAST 92 intake.

Imo, I wouldn't waste you time going from the BBK to a FAST 78 intake, I go with at least a FAST 92.

I'd get a fast man. By the time you sell the bbk it would make the fast hurt a lot less. Theres a couple 92's in the classifieds right now for 650 shipped. If you wanted every last hp out of the car the 102 would add another 7-8 ponies over the 92 ported or unported.

Yeah $1k for intake setup is a lot considering you gain anywhere from 10-25hp

Nitrous isn't a pain in the ***. Just do your research and make sure you know what you are doing. My brother got the NX Proton Kit for $375 shipped and bought a used plate kit for $100. So for around $500 he went from 400rwhp n/a to 525rwhp/550rwtq with a 125 hit. Best bang for your buck.

Of course you'll have to get it tuned to run perfect on the kit. Just my 2 cents

I used to have Nitrous on this car. 2 different kits actually.. Wiring is a pain on a vette because good grounds are hard to find. I had a very good kit actually but Wiring was always a pain. Nitrous is finnicky, its just the nature of the beast. I had a plate kit also.

Ill probably run nitrous again but it will just be a small shot to try and get it more consistent. with a 125 shot I put down 538/587.

I just recieved stuff for my electric cutout, hoping I gain some decent power with them since Im running through stock mufflers right now which arent known for their flow...

hoping for 10-15 whp with them

If you still had the stock intake, I'd say intake all the way. You don't.

Personally, I would do the heads. With that cam, if you get a decent port and milling on those heads, it'll REALLY wake up. Upgrading your intake might be worth anywhere from 10-25 HP. Optimizing your heads with your cam? probably a lot more than 10-25. Then, you may want to take another look at a FAST.

With heads that are well matched to your cam, you can also pick up driveability and possibly fuel economy in addition to the added power.

My $0.015.
