Default Flowmaster or Dual/Dual

I currently have a Flowmaster muffler on my Camaro. Not sure what series it is, but it's pretty loud. Too much for me. Cama across an SLP dual/dual muffler. If I swap the dual/dual in will it be quieter ?

Dual dual will be quieter than a flow, and still rip at wot. I've owned both. The flow is a lot deeper though.

If it is a single in/dual out flowmaster that sits like a stock muffler, then its the junk 80 series. That is the only crossflow design muffler they make for fbodys.

Yeah I have the 80 series. I'm going to make some before and after videos so we can ALL see the difference.

The Dual/Dual is just about the best sounding catback you can get for an fbody IMO. Its super tame for normal driving and only attracts good attention. Cops don't even bat an eye. At WOT its one of the best sounds especially with longtubes and an off road y. If you want, PM your email address and I can send you a video of a couple revs with my car.

I have the dual/dual with gutted cats also but I think it's too quiet for my taste. I asked some of my buddies how it sounded when I flew by them at WOT and they said all they hear is the ls1 and not the dual/dual. I do have a set of speed engineering 1 7/8 headers and their 3in ory waiting on the side. I don't think it will get loud enough for me after the install

I have a flowmaster with mac mids and an ory. It was loud and real raspy.it would crack and rattle like something was loose so I added a single stainless dynomax bullet muffler 3"( in and out ) and it sounds amazing now no more rasp or rattle. It also gave it a deeper tone. To me it sounds perfect now.

This post is on point. Ive owned both catbacks in the past. Dual dual is a great sound, on the tamer side of the scale.

Great to hear guys. Now I don't have to wonder whether I'm making a mistake. The current flowmaster on the car (that I bought the car with) sound like a chevy pickup to me. Not the sound I want... Hopefully the dual dual will change that significantly and it sounds like it will.

If you can, get the entire catback so that you know you have the proper size piping as well. You made it sound like you might just be doing a muffler swap but really these catbacks flow pretty well even once you get into head and cam work as well.

I have the y pipe and the I pipe as well, but I'm not sure that all needs to be swapped in as well. Kinda asking a buddy to weld in for me as a favor. hehe
