I saw someone did this (on the bottom) and the concern was that oil from the pcv may get caught in the map sensor. That's why i put it on the side. I have a wideband, and while driving around with HP tuners, it has great map readings. So, I'm happy with it.

How is it secured/mounted in the intake? I imagine if you were boosted this would not be a good way to mount the sensor.

it's just pushed in the hole just like a stock intake. I drilled the smallest hole possible. Moving up one size drill bit until it fit. with the rubber sleeve on, it wouldn't fit. I pushed the rubber sleeve in the hole, then the sensor was pushed in the hole. Not sure how much engine vacuum you have in a boosted app, but the engine vacuum would help suck it into the hole.

That was my thought also. If you had a good catch can I don't think it would be an issue though.

For boosted application why not just drill a small hole, tap, and use a short machine screw?

Drilled into 1 runner provides the map for that cyl. In the plenum, you get an average read.
The length of the hose makes little to no diff.

Old post, new question;

Could I drill a hole in the back of the Edelbrock elbow and get accurate MAP sensor readings?
