Default Ls1 intake is it worth it?

My build includes a stock LQ4 short block with a set of 243's. Have been keeping my eyes out for good deal on a LS6 intake. I have found a LS1 intake complete with rails, injectors and tb. I can grab this intake for a little over 200$.

Now my question to all you guys is it worth getting the ls1 now and running it with the idea upgrading one day once I get the motor in and the car running. Again this is a budget build so pls keep that in minds. And this is going into a 68 camaro with a T56 behind it.
Thanks for all the help.

if the ls1 intake you found is off of a 04 gto, its the same
as the ls6. better, by some folks word, but not sure how.

I would ****** that deal up and sell the ls1 intake on ebay for 100 bucks as people do buy them. Then use that to either get an oem ls6 or look into the dorman replacement ls6 which is just as good once you do some minor clean up work on it.

But ya if the intake is off ANY gm vehicle after 01 it is actually an ls6 intake. GTo's C5's fbodies etc all made after 01 come with an ls6 intake by default there is no difference.

200 is a good deal seeing as getting injectors rails and a tb will be a little pricey to get. this is assuming you dont have any of that dtuff now

A truck intake is better than the ls1 if you can fit it under the hood.

Dorman sells a brand new ls6 intake for a reasonable price.

The LQ4 runs an LS1 cam. Going to the LS6 intake with stock cam wont get you much hp increase.

It's an easy 10rwhp increase, gains will be more significant with an aftermarket cam due to the higher RPM range. I've personally seen a ls6 intake net .2 faster in the 1/8th mile on a 228/228 cammed car.

Even if you don't get what you hoped from the LS6 intake, as you move to more upgrades, you'll get more out of them. It's a good all around option

That's a good deal.

The LS1 intake is not that bad, it's just low in the intake hierarchy. I had the stock LS1 intake and throttle body on my Trans Am and still made over 400whp and 400ft-lbs with it. It would be good to use to get it running and then sell later when you're ready to upgrade to something better.
